Is it just me that i thought I heard "goed"? i mean, now that i know it is "groot", it sounds like it could be both goed and groot.

Why is "The building is tall." considered wrong? I'm not a native English speaker, but that sounded intuitive to me.

No. I can't explain why though. I know why you would think that, but in this sense, it would be translated as "the building stands large".
