It's the only context where you would use this odd English construction too. For anything else it would be 'once'.

What's the difference between "tilstrækkeligt" and "nok"? Both appear to translate as "enough".

Actually many regions I've lived in use both, so it must be regional, though true, 'once' is definitely universal, no matter what.

You know you've heard it wrong when you hear "En gang er eggnog" which I did the 1st time :) It made a lot more sense the 2nd time I played it, of course.
