"they are possible questions" is accepted but wounds weird for me.

I thought that at first as well, but the possible scenario that immediately popped into my head was academics. Students: "Will these be on the test/quiz?" Professor: "They are possible questions."

But somehow it still sounds not very good to me. Isn't the definite article needed here in both, English and Danish?

"there are possible questions" should also be acceptable, like "det er" = "it is".
