Is this short sentence correct or wrong?

Hello,

Duolingo offers the following as an example:

  • Damit ist die Gruppe komplett.

It's supposed to mean: With that the group is complete.

Is this a valid German sentence?

And can it be re-written as:

  • Damit die Gruppe ist komplett.

Thank you.

"Damit ist die Gruppe komplett" is correct. The verb has to appear in second position. The sentence cannot be re-written as "Damit die Gruppe ist komplett". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V2_word_order http://german.about.com/library/weekly/aa032700a.htm

I would prefer "Die Gruppe ist vollständig". But yes, you can say the above as well.
