While it means the same thing, you are encouraged to stick to the literal translations (when appropriate, of course). Your suggestion would (in Dutch) be: "... dan de mijne".

That would be: ''Mijn ooms auto is sneller dan de mijne". Not sure if that's an accepted variation, you could try reporting it if it's not accepted I guess.
