I was marked incorrect for "un specchio"-- doesn't "uno" mean "one"? They didn't ask if I did not have ONE mirror.

Un, uno, una, un' can mean a/an or one.

"Uno" is an indefinite article used with masculine words beginning with z or s + consonant:
