Excellent website for everything German

While goofing around today I came across this gem of a website:

http://www.dw.de/themen/s-9077

This has everything you could ask for when learning German. Radio for listening comprehension, news for reading comprehension, and an interactive Course up to a B1 level. To find the course, click on "DEUTSCH LERNEN" at the top of the page in the blue box. Scroll down a little and you will see a few choices about what level you are at. Click the appropriate one. If you click either A1 or A2 you will be on a new page; look for the caption- Deutsch Interaktiv; next look for a picture with a purple box underneath with the caption "Hier geht es zu Kurs!" Sign up there, and continue to supplement what you already know in German.

By navigating around, you will find plenty of news articles, radio, and news videos.

Thanks for sharing. I use Deutsche Welle for their podcasts, most recently Mission Berlin. It's fun to do the podcasts because I can do something else while focusing on the podcast. I have thought of using their other tools, it's great!

here is the framework for the testing - Level A1 – Getting started Learn how to communicate the basics, like where you live and what your hobbies are. Level A2 – Communicating basic information You can talk about basic topics and express your needs - like when you’re shopping. Level B1 – Manage everyday situations When traveling in Germany, you can easily deal with most situations you encounter. You can talk about your experiences and clearly state your point of view. Level B2 – Be convincing You can communicate spontaneously and fluently - even in longer conversations with native speakers. You can follow complicated texts and discussions and express your opinion on abstract topics. Level C1 – Communicate freely You don’t have to search for words and you can speak German comfortably and flexibly in any situation. You understand long, challenging texts. Level C2 – Express demands You understand everything you read and hear and can communicate spontaneously and fluently, conveying detailed information.
