I had an entire conversation in spanish
Hi I am a Emt-Paramedic in Canada and the other day I had a patient who could only speak spanish and was having a chest pain. So I took over my partner and had an entire conversation with my patient about the kind of pain and for how long was she having it. It wasn't easy because I'm still learning past tenses and i'm missing some of the specific vocabulary but it was so fun ! And my patient was very patient because I was trying so hard !
I just wanted to share the story with you guys
Keep on practicing it's all worth it in the end (is there an end ? ;) )
I can imagine how patient patients must be.
And my patient was very patient because I was trying so hard !
Have a lingot for that grand effort. You will find that people are amazingly patient with you if they just see you trying. I did not start learning Spanish until I had moved to Ecuador and I remember only knowing the verbs in the infinitive form. I would throw my hand over my shoulder to indicate past tense and throw it forward to indicate future. Everyone thought I was a crazy gringo but they were all so patient and kind with me.
Actually, it put me to shame over my passport country's ability to shame someone just for having a heavy accent.
patient lol, she was proably just wheezing for air...haha Was she or you not slightly worried/bothered that something could get lost in translation?
hey, do you know if you can give in ingots to anyone you want? if you know, reply with the topic: ingots.
that is great man speaking with people is the best and most enjoyable way to learn
I would be worried to if I were talking to someone in Spanish. I hope your patient got well. THAT REALLY HURTS MAN.
