French Tree Completed
I just completed my French tree. It is a great feeling, but I know I'm going to have to stick with it if I really want to become fluent. I'm looking forward to doing more with French.
Congratulations. In terms of mastering French (or any of the languages on DuoLingo) think of completing the tree as "the end of the beginning."
Félicitations! There is a great deal of advice on the discussion forums as to places to go from here. At the moment, I am doing the reverse tree as a review, still working in immersion, reading a book in French, and visiting (most days) TvMonde to see if I can understand the news. Bonne chance!
Very very very good! :) Something that each and every one of us should do. One thing though: when reading something, read aloud because if not the brain has the impression that the pronunciation inside the head is perfect but actually only when read aloud one realizes where the small glitches are ;).
Good idea regarding TV5Monde. I subscribed to TV5Monde Etats-Unis through AT&T U-Verse. It provides great training for the ears!
Carolyn, thanks for the nod to TvMonde. Never used it before, but this is exactly what I need.
Bravo Dan ! Belle après-midi à vous et bonne continuation avec la langue française :-)
Good job! French is always very useful. Even if you don't use it, you still feel proud that you know another language! Stick to it!
So much for my sense of accomplishment. 12 skills need refreshing this morning. It's back to work!
Congratulations! I still have 30 skills remaining in my tree, but seeing folks complete it gives me more motivation to finish my own.
