Cannot get by real translation

I have done my first real world translation in Lesson 1 (and rated someone else's) but the program will not acknowledge it and unlock the next basic lesson. What can I do?

What web browser do you use? I wonder if that may have something to do with the bugs you're experiencing. I did have trouble with translating once, but I left and started it over, and it worked fine. i use internet explorer but it sucks. i also experiance some bugs. but in chrome it is better.

You've done the lessons so the next one is already unlocked, you have two options for mastering the skill, you can test it out or continue doing translations.

That is a good work around. Thanks. But it still doesn't fix the fundamental problem that the "real world translation" piece is broken. I also have to hit ctrl f5 every time I press a button anywhere in the website (I have tried multiple browsers and have problems in all of them). This project seems like a great idea but I am about ready to give up because the interface bugs make it hard to use. I understand this is a free program so I should not be too demanding but it is hard to appreciate the goals of the project when you have trouble with the simple things like getting a page to load.

Just do the test, it's better and you can just do translations in your own time.

I emailed the duolingo folks and now everything works perfectly! I am using the same browser and having no problems. I think they must have fixed it.

And now I'm experiencing this problem. :-) At least it sounds like they are responsive, so perhaps I'll contact them as well.
