I think 'efterlader' should also be acceptable, as in ,,Hvorfor efterlader du mig, når du skulle tage mig med?'', not just ,,Hvorfor forlader du mig, når jeg elsker dig så?'' Thoughts?

    Yes, definitely. In English you wouldn't say "Why do you leave me?" unless it is qualified, eg "Why do you leave me every time....". It implies a regular occurrence, which in this context you hope isn't the case...
