Bring Back XP Progress information Please

I cannot see where I am towards leveling up and it is very frustrating. I do not like the Coach feature. It is not motivating. Watching my progress in XP to leveling up was motivating. Please bring it back.

I could not agree more! Actually, this is why I opened Discussion just now - does anybody know, is there SOME way to see my statistics?

I do hope Duolingo team will give us the progress bar back for Christmass, that coach is useless!

Nice suggestion, but I would not want to use scripts. Duolingo should just get it back and make the Coach optional.

I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. This is been discussed as anything before but they decided not to keep it after the implementation of the coach. That's a working solution and I decided to use it because it is clear now that it was already decided by them to remove it.

Please bring the XP progress bar back. It was very motivating to me. It helped me to to be sure I did lessons every day.

I seem to be the only one to actually like the Coach feature (I keep it set to insane), but I'd also really like to know how far have I progressed. I went to see what my profile looks like and it turns out I have passed a level without being notified! Why is a combination of both coach and the experience bar too complicated?

I have mine on insane as well. I still want to see my exp progress, and how many points I need to level up... I would rather have those than the coach. I'd certainly take both. I don't think anyone dislikes the coach per se, but the fact that all the useful info that was taken away is more useful and motivating to a good bit of us...

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet in this particular thread...but... here is a chart that shows how much XP you need to reach each level. Hope this helps! http://duolingo.wikia.com/wiki/XP

I agree with your assessment of the coach feature, evelynedh. I have been Duolingoing French for a year now and am struggling with motivation and frustration, mostly because multiple strength bars fade and accumulate on a daily basis. I don't want to continue with new lessons when old ones are fading. Previously, keeping daily streaks going was my goal and almost obsession, but that doesn't work the same now that the coach is there. I just don't even bother reach a daily goal anymore. I'm currently stuck on Pronouns 2, not even understanding them. Tips would certainly be welcome there!

Darn, that Pronouns 2 is difficult! I usually repeat lessons until I get a lingot for them, and in this particular skill I had to repeat lessons at least ten times each, the sentence structures are so complicated!

So, this quick pace of skills fading is somehow related to the coach feature? I didn't know that!

I agree. I find myself fishing around in the page source to find out where I am in my progress, but I don't do it as often because it is cumbersome. I found out today that I only did one of my languages yesterday, so I have my site streak but have lost my German streak.
