Just to rub in how confusing the "present perfect" lessons were, I made the mistake of translating this as "Ela tem apresentado sua ideia". Beware.

Yes I did the same thing. Very annoying.

What would be the correct form of the present perfect?

The literal translation of the English present perfect to Portuguese seldom works, and "Ela tem apresentado sua ideia" really means something like "She has been presenting her idea" which is a continuous version of the present perfect. Translating using the Portuguese version of the simple past usually works best (like here).
