I wonder why 'as well as'? Since både … och in Swedish is pretty much the same as both … and in English, and uses the same sentence construction, whereas with as well as you'd have to change it all into The turtle is hard as well as soft, which could then – perhaps more closely – be translated back into Swedish as Sköldpaddan är såväl hård som mjuk.
