Why is "jij bent mijn brand" wrong?

I am an "old" dutch woman and I never have heard this "Je bent mijn vuur". I think it is a sence of a poem. Sometimes young girls say "Ik heb een nieuwe vlam" = I have a new boyfriend.

I would like to understand this too. Is there a use difference between brand and vuur? Perhaps something like flame and fire?

"brand" is abstract and "vuur" you can touch (better not). Flame = vlam and is a part of fire = vuur
