what is vosotros about?
I see vosotros in the conjugation lists, but never get any questions using it. When does one use it?
It's only ever used in Spain. In Spain Ustedes = formal, plural and Vosotros = informal and plural. E.g. ¿Cómo estáis?
From what I understand, it is used mostly in Spain. It's kind of informal, like how people in the South (US) say y'all.
some conflictions here. vosotros is the informal plural, use it with friends and family. ustedes is the formal plural use it with strangers like usted. remember that its accusative is os (i.e like te but plural) and its possessive pronoun is vuestro, vuestros etc. you also use vosotros with prepositions. vosotros is used only in spain.
Second person informal plural in most of Spain. I think using "ustedes" there instead would come across as stuffy, but I'm not entirely sure.
One word (I forget which) is the opposite; it's not on the list and not taught but is still in the questions!
