Whilst accidents are incidents incidents are not necessarily accidents. Wondering how Italian differentiates between the two.

By context. Example:

  • Giovanni ha fatto un incidente, ma per fortuna sta bene. (= Giovanni had an accident, but fortunately he is well)

  • Ci sono stati alcuni incidenti di percorso, ma ora tutto è tornato alla normalità. ( = There were some incidents along the way, but now everything is back to normal)

This sounds like a case for Inspector Montalbano.

'... an incident.', not accepted.

FYI. I got DL feedback. The suggested translation ("This is not an incident") is now accepted (13/07/2015).

DL getting dark with these sentences. What's next? "come si fa a nascondere il corpo?"

I am sure DL said previously: "mia madre ha avuto un'incidente" and now without the apostrophe between un and incidente: "questo non è un incidente" Please explain.

Very hard to hear the "questo", speaker's pronunciation needs to improve

In 2015, the pronounciation sounds good now.
