Why does Duo translate 'hacen' as cook in some instances but not all?

"Hacer" means "to do" or "to make" and is used for all kinds of actions. "Hacer comida" is "to make food". It's not really the same as "to cook" which is "cocinar", but they could be interchangeable in some instances.

Well, I can make a sandwich without cooking it. Maybe that's their drift. In all honesty, I doubt they've thought that much about it. ;)
