Hey just found some lovely things on YouTube and I thought I would share them with you all. I am trying to work on my listening comprehension skills and a few friends suggested I watch some telenovelas to assist.

Televisa Channel is from Mexico (lots of telenovelas to choose from) https://www.youtube.com/user/TelenovelaTelevisa

If telenovelas aren't to your liking, there is a sketch comedy YouTube Channel from Ecuador. Totally hilarious (when I can understand the words. https://www.youtube.com/user/enchufetv

There is also a YouTuber called German. He is from Chile (i think :/) and his videos are hilarious (when I can understand the words). He speaks quickly though, but totally hilarious https://www.youtube.com/user/HolaSoyGerman

There are Cynthia and Gordon from Spain. They teach Spanish on YouTube, and they have lessons for beginners to advanced speakers.
https://www.youtube.com/user/LightSpeedSpanish

And for those of us who enjoy children's stories, there are read along Spanish stories :) https://www.youtube.com/user/bookboxinc

Bueno Suerte! :)

Thank you for the YouTuber German info. I also follow thatsdominican.com https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoZAdiRCq5TEZ7-yhfqtWUA

It is Dominican Spanish and it is really hard to understand. They speak fast, drop most of their R,s and S,s when speaking, and use a whole lot of slang.

However, if you stick with it your Spanish powers will grow exponentially.

Thank again.

Or try http://watch.squidtv.net/ for TV, Radio and Newspapers in most languages. If you know the news in your language it is not too hard to follow it in another. Ditto cooking shows since they describe and show the nouns and the verbs you know. Same with ads and commercials, they will be very familiar.

Hello, if some of you want to listen Spanish from Madrid by watching interesting tv show, then Los Serrano is the best thing for you. Years ago (wow, decade ago), when I watched them for the first time, I fell in love with the family in the show, and they were the reason why my love toward the Spain as a country got even bigger. By that time, I knew some Spanish, but it was Latin American because I watched some telenovelas before ( :$ ). I always wanted to feel Spanish from Spain, so this tv show was jackpot for me. Last couple of weeks, am watching it all over again on this link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4HBSsS7mj37U0xVVSotfYQ. Probably, there are many links to watch it from your countries, but this is good enough for me. There is Bosnian title, but it should not make any problem for you guys as a language lovers, also, maybe it would give you a wish to learn Bosnian. :) I hope you'll enjoy.

I am not sure what do you mean, but this is the print screen of this Youtube channel at the moment. http://pokit.org/get/img/9593bc3a101ad3b85d07aefcb768459b.jpg It is Spanish tv show, with Spanish language, but Bosnian subtitle. But, we do not need subtitles here, do we? ;)

In a similar vein, here's a ridiculously cheesy sitcom that's easy to follow: http://youtu.be/5pggZV0ETjI

I think it was actually produced as an educational thing for teens.

To the smokers out there, this is a very nice docu-serie to fall a sleep with, nice shots of Spain and they talk quiet poetic to me, simply beautiful! And if you are able to watch some kind of B-movie, comedy here is a link.

While I can speak okay, my listening skills are horrible. I tried listening to the Ecuadorian youtube channel, but really couldn't understand much. If I keep listening to Spanish channels every day will I eventually improve, or should I try to approach it a different way?

https://www.duolingo.com/sandyhay14

If there are Spanish TV channels where you live, you can watch the telenovelas - the Spanish is very clearly spoken. I like to watch with closed captioning. If there are not tv channels, try telenovelas on YouTube. Also, if you have dvds you can choose the Spanish language option. Fun!

A friend of mine suggested watching movies that you are familiar with in English dubbed in Spanish, that way you are familiar with the story line...also what sandyhay14 said, watch Spanish channels with the closed caption helps as well

What my friend did, which was cruel but helpful, she told me to watch a telenovela called Las Munecas De La Mafia, and every episode I watched I had to write to her in Spanish what I understood. I would find a telenovela with a lot of episodes and just watch. You won't understand immediately but things will start to make sense.
