Why not "De donde?"

Donde = Where (location) De donde = Where from (direction) A donde = Where to (direction)

"Where did you go (to)?" would be "¿A donde fuiste?", cause direction is implied.

"¿De dónde" means "from where?"

¿De dónde eres? Where are you from?

¿De dónde viene el médico? Where is the doctor coming from?

I need help but do not know when to post my question.
The slow speech button does not work any Moreno my Android phone. It works on my Amazon tablet. I habe uninstalled & reinstalled Duoling. But the slow speech button still doesn't work. Please help.
