Authenticity of originals?
I am starting to wonder whether some of the texts we are translating are actually possibly inaccurate translations from another language. In some cases an almost identical English version already exists of the text.
Also sometimes the foreign language version looks a bit odd. Eg In a text "The battle of the Raate Road" the French version says the Russian commanders were courtmartialed and executed for "losing 55 mobile kitchens" which, in the context, seems to be a very odd charge.
