My answer was "You can confirm this with them." Why wasn't this accepted?

Duo does not have every correct response in the database of answers.

It is now, 3 Feb 2014. Perfectly legit translation.

I said, "You can prove this with them." It was marked wrong so I reported it. I think it should be accepted.

Agree. Too many of their questions don't allow for multiple correct answers.

Any time you see a "missing" correct answer, you should report it. That way, the database gets better every day. I think that is one way that we "early adopters" can "repay" Duolingo for the free use of their resources.

That's probar or intentar.

someone suggested we should report additional correct sentences, but I said you can prove this with them (which as a math teacher, I might well say--at least in English) and I have no idea if that is really wrong or just marked wrong.

Can anyone tell me how common is comprobar? Which is more normal in everyday speech, consultar or comprobar?

How about, "You can try this with those"? Is that wrong?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/jmiker54

"You can try this with those" Would be "Puedes tratar esto con esos". just as "You can check this with those" Would be "Puedes comprobar esto con esos."

Thanks. Maybe I was thinking of "probar."

Comprabante = Proof. It should say, "I can prove this with them". I chose "I can explain this with them." Closest verb to "prove" I saw the option for...maybe "verificar" should be in the sentence instead.

Did you report it?
