I know there've been other discussions on the subject, but I feel an inner need to share my feelings about my streak! I've learnt a lot since the beginning, and am still looking forward to learning more. IMO repitition is the key; I don't feel any pressure, I practise it in my free time, on the bus, train, at breaks at work, and in my own pace. So far, I've reached pronouns 2 section, and these pronouns make me sick, can't get through. I lack grammar explanation, but some of you helped me with it during this year. Merci beaucoup!. People from my work can't stand my constant talking to the phone and hearing French everytime they see me, but I keep on :) For them I have become a Francais :D Hopefully. I'll learn a lot of new stuff in the upcoming year and will speak french better. Cheers everybody and good luck in your learning!
Félicitations! C'est magnifique! Bonne chance pour l'année prochaine!
I look up to people like yourself sir. Your multi language bubbles are an inspiration!
Thank you! Like so many other people here, I have found Duolingo to be tremendously motivating. It has given me the ability to make so much more progress in the area of language study than I ever had before.
Good luck to you! About six months ago, I was about as far along with Spanish as you are now, and so I'm sure you'll be thrilled with your progress six months from now.
Oh my goodness, how do you stop interference between all the languages you know? I am living in Germany and studying French on Duolingo and I find that I often have the French word and not the German word to hand?
I'm getting to one year too, and the excitement is starting to build. I started with Italian, the one language I've always wanted to learn. At 365 days I am rewarding myself with a dinner out at a local italian restaurant. How about you? Any rewards for all your hard work? I can feel with you about pronouns and verbs, maybe italian will be easier for you. Happy translating!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you ;) Good luck in your efforts. I thought I'll learn Italian simultaneaously with French, but it;s too much :) First, I need to finish my french tree, which is still a way ahead of me. I hope I go to Paris this year so that would be my reward. Cheers!
I want to do the same as you have, people like you are really inspiring!
Just some questions...
1. How do you plan to celebrate your new year tomorrow?
2. Are you going to give up? (please say no!)
3. It's your universary! keep it going to duoversary! (statement, not a question)
4. anyhow CONGRATS!
New year you say... I start work at 5 am, so there's not going to be much celebration :) It should be however a rather calm day for me, so there will be plenty of time to practise DL :) So far, I am as enthusiastic about it as at the start. Thanks a lot and good luck in your languages
Thanks, it's just a matter of finding some free time. Keep going too. I hope You see as much progress in your languages as I in my French :)
Thank you! Today, I've added another day so I'm aiming at additional year! Good luck too!
