I'm halfway through my tree. Do I ''legally'' speak legit spanish?

Please help me with this. I speak complex spanish with my friends now I got the hang on it.

I'm not sure what you're asking. I don't know of any legal definition of what is or isn't Spanish. If you're asking if the Spanish is simplified, then the answer is, yes, a little. When you finish the tree you won't be fluent, nor will you know all the grammar you will eventually need. However, it will get you over the initial learning curve with which so many people have trouble. If you're comfortable speaking already then you're on the right track. Keep using Spanish every chance you get.

Duolingo offers 1 university semester worth of Spanish that course. Completing any portion of it simply indicates that one input correct answers somehow. How much one learns along the way depends on a lot of individual factors like effort and innate ability. :)

Indeed! I've completed some lessons late at night, only to realize the next day that almost none of it was retained. That's why it's best to keep repeating after finishing a tree.

Also, I thought Duolingo was the same as two university levels. Of course, not the speaking portions of either.
