today I was about to search for some door key stock photos on the internet and instead of "old keys" I typed "llaves viejas" in the search box. then realized my "mistake" after a few minutes and laughed a little. haha.

Cute! I was traveling in Peru this summer and I noticed that I was processing whatever I heard and was no longer really paying attention to whether it was in English or Spanish.

When I was traveling with family members in Costa Rica I kept forgetting to translate menus for them in restaurants, but I got better about it as the trip continued. On their last day we were in San Jose, the capital, and went to a nice restaurant for a farewell dinner. I immediately picked up the menu and started reading it to them. It was in English. {grin}

I had the same experience the day i returned from Mexico where i talked a lot with locals and in rare cases in english. I was standing in line on the airport and some guys where talking and i could only understand very little.

But later i recognized they where austrian and actually taking in a german dialect and even though i am german and very used to it i had a hard time following.

It seemed as if a part of my brain was rewired and it took more than 10 minutes to get back to normal :D
