Tip: At school / high school = der Schüler / die Schülerin, At university / college = der Student / die Studentin

I would think "what does the student write?" Should be an accepted translation

I listened over and over again to what Duolingo said. It sounded like 'Tryleps' ! How was I supposed to know it was 'schreibt' ?!

What's wrong with "What the pupil is writing about"?

In English the "is" must come after the what. Sort of like German
