Looking for friends who are also learning Danish
No one I know wants to learn Danish with me so if you are and want to be friends follow me and I'll follow you back :)
Sorry if this is against the rules or something I just really want some friends here!
It's a good plan. Just having someone to chat to about the language or to keep motivated helps such a lot. Being completely new to Danish, I keep having to go over and over sentences as it is such a different sound. But I really think it is a charming language...so far!
I've only been learning for maybe a week now, though I already knew a little from my fiance and his family. My biggest issue is remembering how to spell things. I kinda wish Duolingo had a spelling test or something haha. I saw someone comment on a sentence in one of the lessons that Danish sounds like spitting and gagging lol
If at all possible, I would recommend finding people online who are native speakers. It makes a world of difference. I have several danish friends, online and personally, and they have helped me so much in learning cultural phrases and pronunciation and stuff like that. And they are the sweetest people, always shocked that an American is interested in their culture haha
Hi! It's strange but I was in search of someone who is learning Danish too! I follow you and nice to meet you! ;)
:) Being in the USA none of my friends want to learn with me haha. They'd rather learn Spanish. :P
Oh yeah they want to learn French or German sometimes too. I heard only 6 million people speak Danish so I guess it makes sense they'd rather learn something more common. I'm learning because it's my fiance's language! :) I find it soo much easier than Spanish though
Well I am attempting to learn Danish, so I can follow you! I am on 2 weeks nights for the next two weeks, so won't be as active as when I am on day shifts, but look forward to catching up with you soon.
I might become inactive myself because of the holidays. Having some friends to learn with will help me keep active I think! :)
I'm currently learning Danish! I am not far along due to my lack of getting on the site but still. I guess if you're still interested in making friends learning Dansih, I'm here
I am trying to learn Danish. I'll follow you, but be aware that Germanic languages and I have a difficult relationship. I might not be the best of help.
Hej! I am loving the Danish language, but very few of my friends or family will let me practice the few words I know on them. Good luck everyone!
Hullo! I'm a native English speaker scrabbling for a grasp on Danish. I'd be quite glad to speak to someone in the same boat, tbh. Please feel free to get in touch if you think we could help each other out :)
Talking with others definitely makes language stick in your memory much better than passive learning by itself, good idea!
If you're in California you could have some fun visiting Solvang and see how much Danish you can find and decipher (it's not all Danish, I know).
Wow I have never heard of that place! :) Thank you I might go there sometime
Hej ! How is your Danish learning going on ? Still figuring out the best way to pronounce the d and g ... these two are really tricky ones
I just realized I didn't even answer your question. My Danish is going great :P But I've gotten a bit busy now that it's the weekend. The ds sound like ls to me lol
Hello! I'm learning also Danish, but unfortunately I haven't more websites. I would like some recommendations, thank you for your support!
Yes, please, and a good dictionary online. It's difficult to find a good one.
Hm :/ I don't know of many.. http://www.ordbogen.com/ This site seems to be in Danish but has English when you search a word, and looks like you have an option of German or French as well?. People here use http://www.forvo.com/ for pronunciations.
Edit: I don't know if you do this or not but when searching for something relating to Danish I go to Google translate and try to do my searches in Danish.. It gets me very different and often more useful search results. :) And if the webpage is in Danish Google chrome translates it for me.
Thank you for the suggestion! My level is basic, very basic yet, but I feel myself very motivated to learn Danish... I think it's a fantastic language!! Take care, and thank you so much again
