A little treat for French learners
I was just watching a little something and I thought of you, oh fellow French learners.
Some years ago, a mini series was created by Alain Chabat, a French comedian. The episodes are very short (one minute long) and really funny.
Why am I telling you this? Because it was quite popular in France, and it still is! It is common among young people to quote some of the episodes, especially this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJDhxC_9ktI
The last line is known by practically everybody. That's what we say when we want to pretend like we're not responsible for what we've done ;)
Merci pour l'avoir partagé. https://www.linguee.fr/francais-anglais/traduction/merci+de+l%27avoir+partag%C3%A9.html
Is to share conjugated the correct way in that sentence? Or rather why am i thinking it should be '...le partage?
It should be "Merci de le partager", but my French has been tainted by Spanish. Otherwise it works the same way as "gracias por compartirlo" - "ing" taking the infinitive.
It should be Merci de l'avoir partagé. https://www.linguee.fr/francais-anglais/traduction/merci+de+l%27avoir+partag%C3%A9.html
completely missed the de-verb bit lol and for someone reason looking at the example i know instinctively that spanish is definiutely correct but for some reason logically my brain isnt acknowledging it in french lol
That last line... 'Non, ce n'est pas moi. J'ai un alibi...visiter au cinema'? Is that it? Wasn't quite sure about the 'visiter'?
That way, if the person you're talking to doesn't understand the reference, they'll be blown away by your knowledge of pop culture ;)
Haha, that is briliant! Absolutely brilliant! My new favourite thing. Have some lingots mon ami :-D
