Could we please get genders for the words when reviewing?

If you are interested I have created a very simple user script which grabs the data from the page and adds the gender onto the flashcards. Though I cannot guarantee that it will work 100%. Here is how you can use it:

First you need to install TamperMonkey: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tampermonkey/dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo?hl=en-US Then go to the options page and select the new script button. After that delete the default text and paste the code I have provided in the link below into the text box and click save.

Think it's about the "Words" page: https://www.duolingo.com/words

This is absolutely necessary. Absolut notwendig! Until Duolingo adds genders, I wouldn't recommend to use that feature at all. I learn vocabulary with a powerful flashcard software called Anki, where I transfer words from Duolingo and other sources. All noun flashcards must include both gender and plural formation!

A variety of markers (der, dieser, jeder, welcher, ein) with the ability to choose which case (nominative, accusative, genitive, dative) the word list represents them in, might be even more helpful.

YES! That would help greatly.

Also, many nouns aren't capitalised.

Agreed!

I totally agree! Also, is there a way to switch the flash cards between languages? Right now I can only go from Swedish to English but not the other way around- same with German.

It also doesn't differentiate between verbs and nouns. I often get a word with capital first letter and the card reveals it's a verb...

This also.

We should be able to sort by list, and review that list.

Like only reviewing adverbs, prepositions, categories. We need more flexibility. Genders not being visible is only one of the issues but its a good first step.

I would like that too! If the flashcards included the nominative article for the nouns, I would remember the genders better. BTW--where are the flashcards? I can't them under Words anymore.
