The dictionary hints give "Seinnim" as a translation for "I play", but I was marked wrong for that. Can it be used interchangeably with "imrim"? If not, when is it used?

seinn is used for instruments only (though I learned that it might not necessarily be true in Connemara and certainly isn't for parts)

Still...shouldn't that be an acceptable answer in this case? "I play [an instrument] and I drink?"

It can be, yes. And should be. But it's not interchangeable
