Ooops...there's no translation: E quanto aquele menino?

I'm guessing "And how much that boy?" (why not "daquele")

Is this a sex tourism question?....HELP!

E quanto É aquele menino? (Now the person is asking about his price). "E quanto àquele menino?" Now the person is asking about him, a way to get more information about him, whether in a specific subject or not.

This must be an idiomatic expression that doesn't translate directly into English.

My Brasilian husband says this makes no sense and is indeed asking "how much" the boy is! Weird. :P

I guess I will just have to fake it to pass the lesson, but not say this around him!
