Here's one discussion. I think there are different conventions. http://www.italianlanguageguide.com/grammar/orthographic-accent.asp

ciao ragazzi! what is the difference between il pasto and il cibo?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/forsilvia

il past = the meal; il cibo = the food

'Sour food' doesn't sound very idiomatic in English.

Difference between cibo acido and acido cibo?

Cibo acido = Sour food. Acido cibo = Food sour. The grammar in Italian is different than the grammar in English.

What's the difference between the two é accents?

Very good link (thanks Viaggiatore) but: in Italy NOBODY writes pésca/pèsca, everybody writes pesca

I think 'sour' can also be translated with 'aspro'.

Seems to me that È un cibo aspro should be accepted, too.
