"I dry off my shirt" should be accepted, right?

The speaker's pronunciation of "asciugo" sounds very odd... More like "asciugò"

It's not odd, it's wrong: it's "àsciugo", which in italian does not exist! asciugò would actually exist

Why is ''I dry out my shirt'' not acceptable especially when ''dry out'' is one of Duolingo's own suggestions?

So asciugo is 'I usually dry', not 'am currently drying'?

It can be either

Guessed this verb from a towel being 'asciugamano' - result!
