A Year in Weekly Incubator Updates :)
A huge thanks to all the Incubator volunteers for their dedication to the Duolingo Incubator this year! 45 new language courses launched, over 11 million learners impacted, and more than 200 volunteers from 37 countries contributing to this project.
A year in weekly incubator updates:
I am Serbian and I would love to contribute in making Serbian course here :)
This comment makes me wanna sing on mountain tops & go chasing for pots of gold at the end of rainbows (: thank you!
Thanks for compiling this list, Kristine.
There are two more updates remaining for this year. I hope you will be able to add them above just to make the listing for 2014 complete!
Thanks for compiling this Kristine! It really shows that you guys care about the incubator and its progress as much as us users do.
If that is the progress in one year I'm scared for what it will be like in five, ten or twenty years! (I'm going to hide in a corner now) By the way: Nice work Duo team and language incubator helpers on the progress! Happy learning y'all! Happy holidays! :D
Obviously they can't keep up the same rate, they'd exceed the number of living (and then dead and artificial) languages!
Duo's power is infinite. We will have to feed it more languages. Our only hope is that it will be satisfied when it becomes conscious.
45 courses in a year! That's really impressive. I want to learn every languages available but can't keep learning with same pace. So, I think, there always be some language to learn for me. I am eager to see what new additions we will get in next year. I can't imagine what Duolingo will be in next 5-6 years. It would be really awesome to learn from great variety of languages. I hope, soon the non-Latin based scripts will flourish and add beauty on Duolingo.
It is amazing to see this work featured by admins, I'm one of those who waits every sunday to read the post =). Suggestion perhaps for next year, why not making it a sticky post every week, it can be changed to avoid sticky posts spam.
Thanks jitengore for your dedication with this!
I hope more Asian languages will to arrive on the scene next year. The courses for Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Thai, Russian along with Persian, Tamil and Bengali will shine like Diamonds. They will be like nuggets for the Duolinguist, linguaphile or language lovers.
This is awesome and so inspiring. Also, it shows how HUGE duolingo is getting. One of the few things in life that is getting bigger in a very positive and kind manners. Keep the great work and thank you so much : )
