The Dutch Challenge
I am going to switch my computer and phone's language to Dutch as a challenge to myself. Wish me luck!
Uitstekend! Dat is ook wat ik heb gedaan vier maanden geleden. Veel succes!
You say "maanden" in stead of "manden" because "manden" means.... this thing http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/cm/goodhousekeeping/images/GF/Cake%20Basket%20with%20Small%20Riser.jpg
goed idee! nu heb ik het veranderen ook! (Please correct me if I made mistakes in my Dutch sentence ;) )
It is almost correct, except for the last 2 words. What you said was like: "Good idea! No i have too change it!" while it should be: "Goed idee! Nu heb ik het ook veranderd." It is just plain word order, no rules, you just have to remember it. But for veranderen and veranderd there is a rule. You don't want to have the verb, but ther past participle of the verb. How? I've explained it at this discussion already (scroll down to the first comment) https://www.duolingo.com/comment/6044255
If you have got any more troubles, or you're just curious about what a word means, you can always ask me! Good luck studying!
Really?! wow!!! that's a really nice challenge, I think i might do the same when I am start to feel safe about the language :D
I did the same thing in Spanish on my phone and tablet. I can't do it on my computer because I am a programmer and I need to understand everything I am reading. Anyways, it's great practice and immersion.
Ik heb dat ook gedaan! Het is niet te moeilijk om het te begrijpen na je de hele boom klaart.
I have done that for another language before. Good luck! It can be a lot of fun :)
Great idea. I've done the same with my phone, only to Finnish instead of Dutch. It's difficult at times, but it's good for learning words commonly used on phones.
