I have never heard anyone using this word. It is always tjener. Is it some weird word from Jutland or smth? Could someone confirm that please?

I think it may be based on the gender of the server, like waitress vs waiter

I hope you're kidding. It can be a role in a play or a film. The lead role. She could have volunteered. She could be practicing while studying in the reknown Swiss hotel schools... Besides, maybe it's not ideal for every girl, but being a waitress is much more horourable than swindling clients, employees and/or suppliers as a socially admired businesswoman, for instance.
