French movies with french subtitles

Bonjour à tous, Je veux regarder des films en français pour améliorer combien je peux comprendre quand j'ecoute, mais est trés díficile pour trouver films française avec sous-titles française. J'habite en USA. Pouvez-vous aider?

In English: I want to watch french films to improve my listening comprehension, but it's very hard to find french films with french subtitles. I live in the USA. Any help?

un peu plus: The diction in films or perhaps just french films isn't generally very good, and for where I'm at right now I need the subtitles, in French. I'm told they're included in most any DVD you might buy in France (for use by the hearing-impaired), but when you get DVDs of french films here in the States, they only include English subtitles.

Thxthx! Merci Beaucoup!

I had the same problem a while ago and found that the following was the best solution.

You can find French subtitles for most popular French films here: http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search

And then you can easily apply these subtitles to your film of choice with VLC media player. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

You can download French movies via torrents (note: this is only legal if you already own the movie) or you can use some other paid platform such as iTunes.

If you really want to watch these movies with your newly obtained French subtitles on a DVD player there are ways to encode the subtitles and the movie onto a blank DVD but this takes some extra work and software.

If you're happy to watch the films through your computer, once you have the movie file open in VLC, you can just go subtitles>add subtitle file then select the subtitle file you've downloaded and you're good to go!

I hope you can manage that. I know it's a bit of frigging around but it's certainly the most enjoyable way for me to learn languages once I hit a low intermediate level. Good luck! :)

And if you have any of the newer Roku players, you can watch Netflix US and select which audio track and which subtitle track you want to use.

I'm not sure about any of the other streaming channels.

I like to watch Disney films spoken in French with French subtitles. In particular, Frozen, is fun because I know what the English should be so I don't feel any need to change it back into English.

I find many American DVD's with French audio tracks and French subtitles. The problem is the subtitles do not match the dialogue!

Update: since I posted this, Netflix US has started allowing access to French language dubbing with french subtitles, at least with some shows (Orange is the New Black for example). OITNB is usually to fast for me to follow, but it's super colloquial, which is fun.
