Good songs in Swedish?

Does anyone know any good songs in Swedish? I'm trying to immerse myself in the language.

I really like Veronica Maggio and Linnea Henriksson

I listen to Sabaton. here is their only album in swedish https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVjcq3-jyLc

I can't believe I mentioned Finntroll and didn't think of Carolus Rex. Sabaton is my favorite band.

it's one of my favorite bands too :D

Couple of others have already mentioned Veronica Maggio, but since you asked for songs, here's a couple that I like from her: Sergels Torg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-_UQVsoLQQ Låtsas som det regnar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD77PNAQOQo

If you like rap: Timbuktu - Alla vill till himmelen men ingen vill dö: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDHlDb9AOsU

Great songs, thank you! :)

Usually if you're not sure where to start, the national anthem is a good choice.

Others will probably list songs from Kent and Veronica Maggio, so I want to recommend something that is of great cultural significance to both Sweden and Finland.

One of my favorite bands is Finntroll. If you like metal they might be a good choice. Otherwise probably not, they're pretty intense.

I'm a fan of Hel.

Lars Winnerbäck and Garmarna have very nice songs in swedish.

I stumbled across the band Gjallarhorn. I love their album Ranarop. :)

Galenskaparna och After Shave

I've found quite a bit of music in Swedish over the last few years - here's some of my favourite stuff from particular genres:

oh, I love Movits! and they're so sweet irl. met them after a show in toronto. great bunch :D

Your music taste is incredible. This is exactly what I needed to get me into listening to Swedish music!!

It always depends on what you define as "good"

Thorsten Flinck (I like this guys' voice, it's reminiscent of someone like Leonard Cohen and there are a lot of vocab words in the song) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFYV9SVevEw Vintersorg (His Swedish stuff is so much better than his English stuff) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=546Nx1pKPkI Otyg (Vintersorg's folk metal project) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=915OBicMqDA De Lyckliga Kompisarna (some catchy Swedish pop punk, I'm sure there's tons more) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBvivvQCDpw

The Swedish song that I listen to the most is Finnbäcks-Lars Under Stjärnorna; written by Nils Parling. Performed by few people. I have an album by Björn Hedén with this song and on youtube it is the version of Stanley Holmer that I really like.

What kind of music do you like? I like a lot of different genres, but it would help if I knew what sort of recommendation to give you. :)

Rock, pop, religious, rap and jazz.

I knew Finntroll (death metal polka for the win!) but Sabaton was new for me. Some great recs here.

For a bit of oddness, I stumbled across these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S79QTgntlzE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3JAsz7_2w4

I found them both amusing, but also, very helpful for 'getting' the proper pronunciation. Both of those have the lyrics in the video description, which is what made it useful for me.

Does anyone else know of some videos similar, with the lyrics just right there? With metal, I tend to get distracted listening to the music, where stuff like this, I can actually focus almost entirely on what's being sung.

(I realize the title of this post was 'good' songs in Swedish, so hopefully that's subjective enough these are okay. :=) )

Here`s a link to Swedish ukulele songs, all of which have lyrics and chords and about half of which have either audio files or YouTube links. http://www.ukulizer.com/show_files.php?dir=swedish&title=Swedish+ukulele+songs

I listen to Kent.
