Hello! I am trying to learn Spanish on this site but as difficult as it is to figure out gender, I am having a very hard time with noting plural differences in words. Like Leo/Lees and when to use that. Does anyone else have a good learning tool for a general understanding of how that works? Or will I just kind of have to repeat what I learn until I have it memorized? Thank you for your help!
http://www.studyspanish.com/verbs/lessons/pireg.htm and should help you get started with conjugation and http://www.studyspanish.com/lessons/genoun1.htm this one for gender of nouns - DuoLingo is great for practice, but to learn grammar, you'll have to look at resources from other sites. The trick is to find what works for you and to stick with it. I spent a long time writing things down, and it helped me practice verb conjugation.
I make mistakes in gender and number all the time, too. It's part of what happens when English speakers learn Spanish, I think. I go back and forth between learning individual sentences that I know what they mean, and reading over and over the conjugations on spanishdict.com to try and understand why it's leo or lees or whatever in this particular sentence. In time it surprises you at how it gets easier. Keep going!
