To see is zien and to say is zeggen...but zei is "said" and zag is "saw."

Zo verwarrend!

Would "Once I saw an elephant" be "Eens zag ik een olifant" Or could this sentence be translated that way.

Correct, it would be a perfect starting line for a good bedtime story. Like a fairy tail. By the way, did i tell you that once I saw an elephant? It was long ago and far away.

Which is the most common way to say "once"? 'Een keer' or 'eens'?

eens, if you saw someone/thing only once één keer

I am looking forward to when Dutch gets extra modules that you can buy for fun. The first one needs to be: "Strange things with animals." :-P

They cannot do that without losing their credibility - "It will always be free" Like Facebook, but they are selling your personal data to advertisers and it is much worse. Hope Duolingo will never do that - I would rather pay.

Could it be: “ I EVEN saw an elephant” ?
