How does the scoring work?

Can someone please explain to me how the scoring works? I'm baffled. I've had a brown paper folder of "real Spanish from the web" that said I could earn 15 points, but when clicked on it there were 22 points inside. I did all the translations and was awarded 8 points! This sort of thing is happening to me all the time. Now it's showing me a translation task where I've done EVERY sentence, but it hasn't awarded me any points at all and won't move on. Buglets, I suppose. After all, it is a beta.

Oh well.

I think there are still lots of bugs.

Similar happens to me. After mastering a section and translating several sentences it appears that I earned 3 points. That way is very difficult to move to next level.
