You're right. Duo does not explain rules on grammar (especially the Portuguese section). But if you go through the discussions you'll find many interesting tips on grammar, including prepositions+articles ;)

In English one runs or plays ON the beach, but one runs IN the street(s).
In some languages people run THROUGH the streets. The pavement, however, is walked or run UPON or ON. Would you like something more logical? Then try Esperanto! 08 XII 2021 Walt.
