Who else noticed the tremendous amount of progress Esperanto just made? They went from 51 to 60%. I am so happy that the course is moving quickly but that means I need to start studying Esperanto more :P
They and team Russian probably deleted skills not relevant to their language so theres a massive jump. Either way, its still good.
I'm sure it is. If they're deleting skills it means they have a plan for what they want a section of the course to look like even if they're not translating everything. If its translating, it means they really are making a huge amount of progress (though in this case its probably a combination of the two).
As someone else commented on the Russian thread, it is probably due to deleting bits of the tree - if more have to be added, the progress won't look so good. :(
But oh - a race - yes, we must have a race!
I shall sip my tea whilst pretending artifical advancement is impossible and they really are at 60% and drape an Esperanto flag around myself. Go Team Esperanto! :D
The Esperanto team has decided together with Luis v A to cut the tree shorter, so that the course can be ready sooner. Later the left out parts will be "glued" back onto the tree again.
They were probably spurred on by the Russian team's progress. We'll have another race, like in the Itch days!
Nope, but good guess. ;)
For the real reason, see: http://incubator.duolingo.com/courses/eo/en/status
While nothing will ever compare to Itch, I like your thinking...maybe something like "Resperanto"? Or "Esperussian"? Then, what if Turkish or Hungarian join in on the action? Good luck combining all those languages :P
