Please respond to this thread if you've completed the Dutch tree or the English tree for Dutch speakers.
We would like to keep track of the amount of users who've finished our tree, make sure that the right amount of compliments and recognition are bestowed on you, and we might contact you for feedback. :)
1. Those who have completed the Dutch Course Tree
2. Those who have completed the English (for Dutch Speakers) Course Tree
3. Those who have reached level 25 in Dutch
Come on you guys...make us proud ;)
Also thanks go to AlexisLinguist, for inspiring this post. :)
This is an excellent idea! Perhaps anyone who is 25th level in Dutch also could be recognized here.
I'm glad you liked the suggestion. Thank you for adding a section for people who reach Level 25!
It looks like there are three people with a Dutch badge on that list. Not very many!
I'm working really hard to reach level 25 in Dutch..! I just reached 19.. I hope I can make it!
I've finished the Dutch course and I'd like to say thank you because the course has helped me greatly with learning Dutch. Bedankt!!
Unfortunately I have to finish German first. Well, I just got passed the last checkpoint so hopefully I can finish by February 2015 (I'm really lazy, but I review a lot)
I've finished the Dutch course! Thank you for everything! It's been my favorite course so far! :-)
Alsjeblieft :)
Edit: Ah, jij hebt me toegevoegd, dank je wel!
Alsjeblieft.. kan je me toevoegen?
❤❤❤ zeg je "pretty please" in het Nederlands..? >w<
I also finished the tree a few weeks ago and I'm currently working on making it all gold ;)) It was great, thanks for all your work.
Ik heb het afgemaakt! Was heel grappig, hoor :D
A few years living in the Netherlands rather helped me... :/
Finished it right now! First duolingo tree I've finished. Dank u wel Team Dutch!
I have completed it.
Is this solely for the EN > NL course? Or is it also applicable for the NL > EN course, (as I've finished that tree as well)?
Many thanks to the creators!
And a very special thank you to every single person who has taken/is taking the course -- you catch errors within the course and report them, which greatly affects/improves the learning experience for everyone. ^_^
Well done! :)
What a good idea, I could add American owls for the reverse course (:
Thanks for taking our course, Brijsven ^^
I just finished the tree. Thank you for the course, it has really helped my Dutch.
Hi guys! :)
Yes, this thread is not up to date. There is actually another hall of fame thread, an updated one. However that one is not super up to date. No worries though, we'll be updating these threads soon! :)
I also wanna say a big thank you to the Dutch Team! You guys are amazing!
I should change my username to like AAA Dogepamyupamyu so that I'm always first on lists lol
LOL, me too... having to scroll down to 'r' in Halls of Fame is so tedious....
first world problems
I've also finished the Dutch tree. It helped me progress so much. Thanks to you and the rest of the Dutch team for this!
I'm almost there- I hope to be in the first set of 20- what an honor! I have four days until I fly out from het huis van mijn moeder and real life smacks me in the face.... I'm tempted to try to finish the course. Maybe I'll just try just a couple more rounds tonight- is this what an addiction feels like?
Me too, and I'd like to echo all the thanks for Team Dutch. Great work guys.
I've just finished the Dutch tree too, thank you for the excellent course.
I finished my tree some days ago, thanks for all the work, it was really easy and fun to learn :)
I have just finished the Dutch course! Thank you so much to the Dutch duolingo team for creating such a wonderful course. It has been a great tool in helping me to learn the language.
I've finished my tree. Thank you to all the Dutch team members and other Duolingo users who have helped me along.
I'm going to finish this course too! You guys are awesome for doing an awesome job!
I've completed the Dutch tree. I was one of the first, just after some other guy who wrote a lengthy review about the course after he completed it.
I finished the Dutch Course Tree, too, a couple of days ago. It was a very awesome experience, well-built and pretty thorough.
It took me a little longer than others (around 140 days, I did around 2-3 lessons a day). But this is because I tried to squeeze the most I could from the course. My method of approaching it was writing down the new sentences using the good ol' pen and paper, because I felt too superficial only "nailing" each sentence and moving on. This way, I better understood the constructions and I think I also got pretty good at spelling. It was particularly challenging for me since I had never learned a Germanic language (well, apart from English, I guess :) ).
I really enjoyed the progressive integration of past lessons into the later exercises. It was quite good for refreshing vocab and grammar. Also, the more easygoing sentences and specific Dutch cultural exercises were a real nice touch.
Now that I have a good feel of the language, I'm reviewing the Tips & opmerkingen for each lesson, to reinforce my knowledge, while still keeping the Course Tree golden and all skills "strong". Also, I'm doing a quick pass through the English for Dutch speakers course, this time without writing anything down.
At this moment, I feel my weakest points are listening (everyday spoken Dutch is much harder to understand than the Duolingo voice :) ) and actually formulating sentences myself in Dutch. To improve my weak points, I plan on translating more in the Immersion section and watching some Dutch films/videos/news. And since I'm interested in the business/financial world, I've subscribed to the newsletter of Het Financieele Dagblad and I'm making a list of all the specific terms used in the news, while trying to understand as best I can the headlines.
A sincere thank you to the whole Duolingo Dutch team! You guys did one helluva job and though I see you're still struggling to iron out the kinks, you should be really proud of what you have achieved so far, because it really helps out us complete Dutch newbies.
Mijn hartelijke dank, Sebastian
Ik heb de Nederlands boom gedaan! Mag ik ook hier zijn? En natuurlijk veel bedank voor de groep!
Today I conquered the Dutch (Nederlands) for English speakers tree! And made it all golden as well. Still working on that famous 25-th level though.
I'm going to share my thoughts and observations on the forum soon. For now, I must say that it is the best Duolingo course that I've finished so far. The most useful selection of words, sentences and grammatical concepts but also loads of hilarious sentences were provided.
Just a question :P.
What's the point of putting the Dutch trophy next to the name if it's a Dutch hall of fame? :P
I think it looks nice too. Just 3/4 of my tree left and then I'm there (which I'm actually pretty proud of considering it's only been about three weeks)
Ik ben klaar met de boom! <3 Bedankt voor de cursus! Groetjes uit het warme Brazilië! ^^
I just finished the Dutch course and got my golden owl. My tree is entirely golden, too. Bedankt, Team Dutch!
By the way, my favorite sentence was: "Er zit een mannetje in mijn computer!" Pure genius!
I really liked the last two skills, too, as they made me want to visit the Netherlands soon. Well, that's almost completely true. I'll admit that the lesson that had a lot of sentences about all the traffic jams during rush hour briefly dampened my enthusiasm. I got over that, though, and can't wait to go and try out some of the local cuisine! Except maybe I'll pass on the stamppot. . . ;-)
I finished my Dutch tree! Wohoo!
Could you add me, please! Now I will continue to keep everythig gold until I can get a 5.0 in the exam. Currently only at 2 I will try to write a post about my experience.
Dank u wel.
Just finished the Dutch tree... 28-day-streak but I had some knowledge before from doing all Dutch lessons on Babbel. Babbel was essential for learning pronunciation and a base vocabulary of around 2.500 words but Duolingo is much better at explaining things and training the real understanding. I like both and the combination made it easier.
I want to learn dutch (I know English). Overigens heb ik ook de cursur(tree) af: I want to learn German (I know english).
Finished my Dutch tree today :) I want to say that you guys have done an absolutely superb job on the incubator. The course has been by far the most entertaining one to follow - I love the touch of humour and the bits on the culture, history, geography and food of the Netherlands. It goes a long way in making the course interesting. Kudos and dank u wel!
I have finished the Dutch tree today! :) Bedankt voor de cursus! Ik houd van Nederandse taal!! :)
Hi Lavinae! I finished my tree a few weeks ago. SO yeah (and for bragging rights, I might be the youngest which is 12 years old :D )
Only just, I finished it a few weeks after my thirteenth birthday. But anyway, well done.
Mischien.
Me too! Esperanto will be the third tree that I will conquer. I'm actually happy that they will release it in June because my birthday is in June.
Yay! I just concered the Dutch tree. :) I already concered the English tree previously. Compared to most of you it's not much of a feat, since I'm Dutch and already spoke English before joining Duolingo, but I wanted to take this moment to share my favourite sentence:
Wijn is poëzie in een fles.
BTW since I didn't really learn the languages on Duo, there's no need to add me to the list.
I have finished my Dutch tree today - not fully golden though so that's my next goal
Although I am a native, I loved both courses so much I completed them! The NL skills were very interesting. :) Worth waiting for them!
I finished my Dutch tree a few days ago, but just remembered to post about it here.
Bedankt voor al jouw werk!
I have. You've seen my post about it. I am working on level 25. I'm going to make my tree golden again over the course of this week.
Gymnastical just let me know about this...I've finished my English --> Dutch tree. :)
Woo Hoo!
I just now finished the Dutch tree, and would love to be on the list!! Yay!
I finished my Dutch tree yesterday! I will still make sure all my skills are up to date though.
I don't know if this thread is still applicable, but I finished the dutch tree too :)
I have completed the dutch tree 1.0 until yesterday; well, majority of the progress were reset to zero this morning due to the new release of the tree 2.0.
Hello, I finished the language tree a while ago.
Only level 17 though :'(
I see this discussion is fairly old but I have just reached level 25 in Dutch also.
