Why Is French so Hard?

Started with 3 languages ( likely too much) Spanish (been easy, I'm taking it in school) German (pretty easy, Grandpa from Austria so it's in my blood :). However French has been really hard and it takes me 60 questions a lesson to finish. Why is that? I'm likely going to take a break and finish the Spanish Tree before doing anything else now

what are the parts you find hard though? maybe we could help clear it up if we know what parts are causing you trouble. at level two though, i think you just need to get used to the pronunciation maybe. german and spanish are pretty phonetic, so moving from those to a less phonetic language might be tripping you up a bit. if you stick with it it will get easier though. french spelling is quite predictable once you have exposure to it.

Yeah the pronunciation from the lady is really hard to listen to and my spelling is bad as a result. I will keep going but still consider it a my hard language which is good to be challenged. Thanks for your advice

Yes, the pronunciation is pretty bad :p

What I did (I finished the tree but stupid glitches made like half of it disappear so i'm trying to get it all back) is do the lesson without the listening exercises so I can learn the words. After that I redo the lesson with the listening exercises so I already know the spelling but I still get the exercises.

Maybe you should try this and see if you like this ;)

French is latin-based, just like spanish and english, but german isn't, so it may be messing up your french a bit an making it a bit harder. Try to think about the latin-based languages you know while studying french

EX: Nous aimons (We love) is similar to Nosotros amos (We love)

Good luck with French!

Hi! i think three is very much, you should stick with the Spanish and German until you get them right and then you can start thinking about adding a new one, i live in morocco Tangier, sow for me English : i learnt it from TV, and it the only thing i gain from it. French : a little bit from school sense i was a bad student, and our education programs sucks like hell. German : also from school the same think like french. Arabic : well its my original language and its great sow that kept me hock to it. Spanish : my ancestors language, great language, i hope i learn it some day.

have a good day!
