Which Is More Important

I like how next to everybody's username you see all of the languages their learning and their level. I think it would be cool if once you complete a tree a special golden Duo trophy appears next to the language you have completed. What do y'all think? Happy learning! :D

Or just a golden edge around the round flag?

Like this maybe? (5 minute job in Paint! :P)

Thanks a lot for the two bonus owls you bestowed on me!!! B-)

(On a somewhat unrelated note, I am not sure whether this would indeed be as easy a thing for Duolingo to program as it was for you to do in Paint, since Duolingo still seems to have a problem with the Dutch levels... I'm about a level 10 in Dutch, in real life. I think it sometimes shows up correctly, at other times not at all, and here as a paltry 3.)

The gold number on the type decreases the contrast between the white background. Values are too similar I think. However, I like the simplicity of it more than the golden circle outlines... so difficult to choose :P

You could add a font outline or drop shadow, but then you start to lose the minimalism of the current website design...

I like this idea. It was suggested by sigmacharding here.

This is the right idea, it wouldn't change the interface too much and would most likely be pretty easy for them to do.

I LOVE this idea!!! It would make people's bars look cooler, and I would feel proud to have a ring around my swedish flag in a week or two!

They could make the flag square for a completed tree, and they could make the number gold for anyone whose tree is 100% gold--even a partial one. Then I'd be gold for French and German and square for Spanish and Italian.

I was thinking something similar. If a completed tree is to be indicated, then something else should certainly indicate whether or not it's golden.

Also the native language/s of that person would be great!

Yeah! I was thinking about adding that to the initial post.

It would really be awesome, if you could hover your mouse over the circle flag in someone post and see a text pop up telling you what language the flag represents. To this day, I still can't tell French, Dutch, and soon to be Russian apart from each other.

Interesting ideas, but I wonder whether either the golden circle or the golden owl (right next to the language flag) would clutter up and destroy the really clean look it has now.

Although by no means is there a complete match between level achieved and completion of the tree, currently the display provides a rough sense of how far along someone is in each language listed by listing the level achieved.

Instead of the golden circle or golden owl next to a flag, I would suggest that at the end of the display line following the orange day streak indicator a golden owl be posted for each completed (or completed and goldened) tree. That preserves the clean look, but gives bragging opportunities for those who have gone the distance. And one can aim to have, say, "x" number of golden owls in a row over time, much like a movie ranking system with "x" stars

I do like being able to quickly see if someone finished a tree, but I agree with many of the comments it should be something subtle. A border could be cool, or maybe a sparkle.
