Immersion is glitchy on iOS 8

Hi, I have always loved using the Immersion feature of the website as I find it really enhances my learning, especially since I have now completed the tree.

I use both the Duolingo app and website on my iPad but since upgrading to iOS 8, Immersion does not work. Whenever I attempt to work on a sentence (I.e. By tapping on it) the box on the right hand side does not change to the box where you can enter your translation and instead remains as it is. This means that I cannot translate sentences or rate other people's translations (except in the parallel translation view which is very hard to work with on the smaller screen).

Operating System: iOS 8.1.2 (However, the issue has occurred since upgrading to iOS 8.0)

Browser: Safari

I would really appreciate if one of the Duolingo staff could look into this. Thank you very much for your help!

EDIT: It is possible to bring up the side panel, but it requires you to tap the sentence several times. Thanks to Louiswu15 for pointing this out. Having been able to use Immersion I tried translating some sentences and discovered that when you try to enter text in the translation box the page automatically returns to the top meaning you cannot see what you are trying to translate.

I use iOS 8.1.2 on my IPad also. I have found immersion to be a little glitchy, but after 2 or 3 taps on the sentence you wish to translate, the box usually appears. One additional problem I've found is that if you have an additional tab open ( which I normally do to look up unfamiliar words ) and you switch between the tabs, Duolingo logs you off and all the work you've done on the translation is lost. Arrrgh!
