nehmen und bringen?
When I should use "nehmen" and when "bringen"?
You could roughly say that "nehmen" means "to take" and "bringen" means "to bring".
@ johnysunday: Could you give some examples of sentences where you get confused?
Ich bringe dir Essen (I bring you food) Ich nehme dich ernst (I take you seriously)
But it won't help you to search for the rule in this. It's more useful to learn a ****load of sentences with those words and you will learn it more naturally. Don't try to learn fixed translations (this means that and this means that...), but rather accept the language like it is. That's my advice
