Finished my Portuguese tree!
I've listened to Brazilian music for years and I finally decided to take an active step in learning Portuguese. And now I've finished my tree! My fluency in Spanish totally helped. I can't wait to learn more.
Parabens! You're way ahead of me, but I'm plugging along. Now you should visit Brazil!
Fluent in spanish? I envy you. Knowing a little spanish never the less being fluent is a huge help. Well parabéns! Are you thinking of taking up another language?
Thanks! I'm working on finishing the Italian tree now. I started Portuguese and Italian at the same time, but I spent more time on my Portuguese tree. After finishing up Italian, I think I'll want to level up all three of my foreign languages at least up to 20 before starting another one.
Congrats! That's the tree I'm working on currently too, while trying to keep up with my Spanish :) I absolutely love Portuguese. Favorite language I've ever dabbled in
I found it pretty easy. Almost all of the verb infinitives are the same in Portuguese as in Spanish, and many of the nouns are either similar to Spanish or to English or both. Good luck with your goal!
congrats :) what music do you recommend? i've been wanting to start looking up portuguese music.
The first artist I ever got into was Marisa Monte. I still really think her work is nice. Now that I'm understanding the lyrics, I don't think they're that unique, but the quality of her voice is amazing, since she's operatically trained.
I also like Baden Powell. He was an AMAZING guitarist. Only a few of his songs have lyrics, though. Badi Assad is also really good. Actually, I think she's the better guitarist, but her work doesn't have lyrics, at least not from what I've heard.
There's also João and Astrud Gilberto. Most of what I listen to in Brazilian music is quite old, haha.
Congratulations! I'm working through my own tree ever so slowly, like an inchworm...
Not at the moment. I've been working on Italian and Portuguese side-by-side, and I'm almost done with the Italian tree. I'll decide what to do from there.
Se precisar de ajuda, estou aqui! (If you need any help I am here :) ) Boa sorte!!
Obrigada. Se eu pensar um modo em que você poda me ajudar, te notificarei. (I hope I said all that right, perhaps you can help by correcting this. :-P)
That is awesome. Congrats. Posso falar em portugues tambem depois de morar la (Brasil) por um ano.
Wow, this is absolutely awesome. I,am currently taking my time with the tree, but i would to ask - having completed the tree, how would you evaluate you portuguese proficiency in terms of Duolingoing?
I feel pretty confident in reading the language, but I need practice speaking it. I was already fluent in Spanish when I started, and I've been listening to Brazilian music for years, so that certainly helped.
