A Dutch speaker would not say that something "has sight", but rather that it is able to see: "Het dier kan zien". Should be fixed :)

There is a distinction in medicine. Sight indicates that the mechanics of vision are intact. But seeing an object is secondary to sight, and may involve brain function and the environment. (For example: One can have sight in a dark room, but not be able to see, while another person might be able to see a little. But both have sight.)
